Most people get stuck on the same doubt: "what would I use AI for?". The answer is simpler than it looks. It is not about technology, it is about giving time back to your day.
You do not need to learn anything complicated. You only need to know how to ask. Below are five uses that work on the first try, each with a ready-to-copy example request.
A 20-page report, a long article, the contract nobody reads. Instead of spending half an hour, ask for a summary and read the essentials in two minutes. Then, if needed, you go deeper only into the part that matters.
Summarize the text below in 5 simple points, highlighting anything that requires a decision from me.
Emails, difficult messages, replies you keep putting off because you do not know how to start. The AI writes a draft and you adjust it. The hard part, starting from zero, goes away.
Write a friendly, to-the-point email to reschedule a meeting. Professional tone, at most 2 paragraphs.
When the answer comes, do not accept the first version blindly. Ask for changes: "make it shorter", "more informal", "remove that part". It is in the conversation that the text becomes yours.
When everything feels urgent, nothing moves. List what you need to do and let the AI separate what is urgent from what is important, and spread the tasks across the days.
Organize my week based on these tasks and deadlines. Separate urgent from important and suggest what to postpone.
To lock in any subject, the secret is testing what you learned. Ask the AI to explain it simply and then create review questions. You study and assess yourself in the same place.
Explain this material simply and then create 10 review questions with an answer key.
A blank page is a creator's worst enemy. Use AI as a starting point: ask for a list of ideas, pick the best one and develop it. You are not handing off the creation, you are getting momentum.
AI does not think for you. It gets you off square one, which is usually the hardest part.
Pick one of the five uses, the one that solves a pain point of yours this week. Open Claude, copy the example request and adapt it to your case. In a few minutes you will have a useful result in hand.
Once the habit sticks, the next step is turning these one-off uses into systems: processes that repeat the same way every time, without you thinking from scratch each time.
Not to start. The free versions already cover the five uses in this article. A paid plan only makes sense when use becomes daily and intense.
It can. That is why you check what matters, especially numbers, names and dates. Treat AI as an attentive assistant, not as a definitive source.
Avoid pasting sensitive information, such as passwords and other people's data. For common everyday tasks, use is safe.
